Scanloc has provided the consultation and cataract service at Benenden Hospital since April 2004. Present waiting list targets are three weeks for a consultation and eight weeks for an operation.
All cataract surgery is audited to provide a stringent quality control of the service.
Our team introduced cataract surgery in topical anaesthesia and all cataracts are done as day cases. Benenden has a long history of providing inexpensive, quality healthcare to their members. The ophthalmic department is now able to offer out-patient consultations and treatment as well as day case cataract surgery and laser treatment. There are four specialist eye surgeons providing the service.
Scanloc Ögon - Eye clinic in Gothenburg, Sweden
Scanloc Healthcare AB was awarded a contract by the Regional Health Authority to provide ophthalmic services at its eyeclinic in the City of Gothenburg in Sweden in July 2010. We provide outpatient services as well as cataract operations. Approximately 8000 outpatients will be seen per year as well as 1400 operations and 450 laser treatments.
The Benenden Hospital Orthopaedic Service
In December 2004 Scanloc started up an orthopaedic department at Benenden Hospital in partnership with its existing staff. A Scanloc team of orthopaedic surgeons provides the day case orthopaedic services together with physiotherapists, out-patient and ward nurses from Benenden. During the first 15 months of the project, Scanloc theatre nurses and ODPs provided orthopaedic expertise and helped to train Benenden's own theatre staff in orthopaedic theatre nursing.
Benenden has a long history of providing inexpensive, quality healthcare to their members. The orthopaedic department is now able to offer out-patient consultations and treatment as well as day case and overnight surgery. There are three full time surgeon posts and two part-time posts to give patients the best possible sub-speciality mix. Present waiting list targets are three weeks for a consultation and eight weeks for an operation.
