Registration and Placement Process Register with us
The prospect of working in a new country is an exciting one. While the process of registration is very bureaucratic, please do not be disheartened as we will be there to support you and believe the rewards of working in the UK are well worth the effort.

Finding Employment in the UK
Stage 1- Starting the ball rolling:
Register with Scanloc and we will send you an information pack which includes the following documents:
- Scanloc application form
- Example of how to write a CV
- Health Questionnaire and information from our Occupational Health Provider on Pre-Employment Health Screening
You need to be vaccinated against Hepatitis B. If you have been vaccinated, check your Hepatitis B titre levels. If they are less than 100 miu/ml you will need a booster dose. It can take up to 6 months to attain adequate titre levels from vaccination, so we strongly advise you to start the vaccinations immediately.
- Up to date CV in English.
- Completed Scanloc application form.
- Completed Health Questionnaire and the results of your blood tests/ vaccination evidence.
- Copy of your passport and (if applicable) a copy of your visa/ work permit.
- Copy of your GMC Certificate (when available), confirming your Licence to Practise and registration details.
- Police Check Statement from home country (if applicable).
- UK Police Check (CRB): Scanloc will send you a CRB form for completion. This costs £36.00, a fee that will be reimbursed once you are working through Scanloc.
- Copies of your Medical Degree, licence to practice and specialist registration certificates
- Two passport sized photos for your ID Badge.
- Two references from your current or most recent place of employment. Please note that we are not able to accept any references that have not been requested by Scanloc.
Stage 3 - Making your job preferences:
Once your documentation is complete, please inform us of your preferences as regards when, where and in which capacity you want to work. It is then up to us to meet your requirements and find a suitable post. We may have a suitable position on our list of vacancies but we may need to ring to our contacts or send mail shots.
It is very important that once you have agreed upon your availability with us that these dates are kept. Please notify us of any changes immediately.
We will contact you before we put your name and CV forward for any vacancies. This is a crucial time in the job placement process and therefore we must be able to contact you as the jobs are often given on a `first come first served` basis.
Your CV and references will be presented to the Department's Clinical Director for approval. We would normally have a response from the hospital's medical staffing department within one week.
If they offer you the job, you may be asked to attend an interview at the hospital or to give a telephone interview. Once the hospital has given us a firm job offer we will contact you and ask if you wish to accept this. If you do, a contract will be issued and sent to you. Once you have accepted a job it is seen as very poor if you back out. Both your own and our reputation would be severely damaged should you do so.
