During the past 10 years we have provided staff to many different hospitaly across the length and bredth of the United Kingdom. Originally our main business consisted of recruiting doctors and supplying them for short and long term jobs. During the last few years we have in addition to the above provided teams of anaesthetists and surgeons for longer term projects. We can provide surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre nurses and ODPs separately or as a complete theatre team. The teams can work within normal working hours or outside of these (evenings or weekends) in order to fully utilise expensive theatre resources. Our present Team Projects are:
1. The Benenden Hospital Ophthalmic Service
Scanloc provides the Ophthalmologists for The Benenden Trusts consultation and cataract service at Benenden Hospital. Scanloc has been providing this service since April 2004 and has had the contract renewed until 2008. Present waiting list targets are two weeks for a consultation and eight weeks for an operation.
All cataract surgery is audited to provide a stingent quality control of the service.
2. The Benenden Hospital Orthopaedic Service
In December 2004 Scanloc in partnership with staff from Benenden Hospital started up the orthopaedic department at Benenden Hospital. A Scanloc team of orthopaedic surgeons and anaesthetists provide the orthopaedic services together with physiotherapists, out-patient and ward nurses at Benenden. During the first 15 months of the project Scanloc theatre nurses and ODPs provided orthopaedic expertise and helped to train Benendens own theatre staff in orthopaedic theatre nurseing.
Benenden have a long history of providing inexpensive, quality healthcare to their members. The orthopaedic department is now able to offer out-patient consultations and treatment as well as day case and overnight surgery. Sub-specialist surgeons are rotated into 2.8 whole time equivalent posts in order to give the best quality treatment. Present waiting list targets are two weeks for a consultation and eight weeks for an operation.
