Company Profile
Scanloc was founded in 1995 and provides international recruitment of specialist doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals to public and private healthcare organisations and the provision of healthcare.
Recruitment: Through our expert knowledge of the international medical world we are well placed to provide candidates and clients with a professional service. Scanloc’s Medical Director is a retired NHS Consultant with many years experience as Clinical Director and Lead for Risk Management. Scanloc’s Managing Director is a Swedish registered nurse with many years experience in hospital management and our Lead Nurse is a NHS Modern Matron. We use this experience to formulate a working practice aimed at maintaining a high standard of clinical governance within the organisation.
Scanloc provides a professional and individually tailored service for each client and candidate and has built a large and resourceful network, enabling us to provide an executive service. We support our candidates and clients consistently before and during their assignments, offering candidates comprehensive support, with information about different healthcare systems, contact with colleagues within the same speciality, registration with regulatory bodies, how to write a CV, arranging accommodation on or off-site, Occupational Health, support to spouse/ partner/ children regarding job opportunities and schools, and general support by regular contact.
We evaluate our success by monitoring the quality of our work and seeking feedback from both clients and candidates both during and at the end of placements. We also operate a quality management system that which meets the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2008.
Scanloc adheres to standards and code of practices governed by amongst others the following organisations:
NHS
Scanloc holds a National Framework Agreement with the UK NHS. We are audited annually by the NHS PaSA (Purchasing and Supply Agency)
QCC
(Quality Care Comission for our nursing agency. We are audited annually by QCC.
REC
Scanloc is a member of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).
Scanloc recruits mainly from Europe and has an extensive database of candidates, in particular many doctors from Scandinavia who are registered with the General Medical Council and are on the specialist register in the UK. We have worked very hard to maintain a reputation for efficiency, fairness and honesty amongst our candidates and clients.
Healthcare provision: Scanloc can man whole departments and provide healthcare rather than just recruiting candidates for individual posts.

- To ensure that all contracts for the placement of candidates are fulfilled in such a way as to comply with all applicable regulations and the specific requirements of clients' contracts.
- To maintain suitable and sufficient surveillance of current placements to ensure that the stated contractual requirements are being fulfilled.
- To accept contracts only if we know we can meet our clients’ requirements and that those requirements are compatible with the expertise of our selected candidates
Candidates:
- To maintain a current database of all eligible and able candidates who are or will be likely to be seeking a placement.
- To maintain a record of eligibility and update the information held on each candidate in line with current legislation, regulation and applicable codes of practice.
- To advise of any opportunities for a candidate placement that will match their expertise.
- To provide information and support that may be necessary to maintain and conform to new or updated regulations or codes of practice.
- To provide the support and advice that may be required for those working in a new country for the first time.
